First Lightning truck was released in 1993 as part of SVT sport lineup. Then, it used V8 engine with 5.8-l displacement and 240 hp. It compete the Chevy 454SS for two years before its production comes to an end. After some while, in 1999 Lightning was re-launched. With smaller engine, it offered more power and lasted for five years. This was more successful time with over 28,000 examples produced until 2004. 2018 Ford F-150 Lightning performance
There is no much information about upcoming version of popular truck, but we expect 2018 Ford F-150 Lightning with high performance, significantly above base model. It is somehow linked with Ford Raptor, mainly because same engine could be used for both trucks. It is V8 rather than V6 Ecoboost. Will it be supercharged or twin-turbo, company is keeping under radar for our intelligence sources. Whichever option takes place under the hood of the new Lightning, be sure that a lot of power will come from it. We suppose that near or even over 500 horses is going to be crunched from it.
